Explore Our Island
Lefkada
Lefkada is connected to the mainland with a floating bridge and it is the only Greek island that you can reach by car. The channel which separates the island from the rest of Greece was first dug by the Corinthians in 500 B.C. when the island’s economy was flourishing.
The capital of Lefkada, which bears the same name as the island (locals call it Lefkas), is the first place you see when you reach the island through the floating bridge. It is situated on a small peninsula and is the most populated town on Lefkada.
The town has a historical center with square, old houses, churches and narrow streets. Along the promenade there are many cafes with view of the sea and mainland Greece.
